Gastric stromal tumor with neural differentiation |

|
Patient with a gastric submucosal tumor located on the posterior face of the gastric body, with normal covering mucosa. EUS identified a large in-homogenous tumor, with cystic spaces, hyper- and hypoechoic areas, originating in the 3rd EUS layer (submucosa). EUS-guided FNA was performed, with multiple passes, but it was non-representative. Due to the strong suspicion of a malignant GIST tumor, the patient was referred to surgery, while pathology confirmed a malignant GIST with neural differentiation (c-kit+, S-100+). |
