Patient with a recent upper gastrointestinal bleeding episode manifested as hematemesis and melena, with a large mediastinal tumor invading the esophagus at 25 cm from the incisors. EUS with power Doppler showed a hypoechogenic, inhomogenous, vascularized tumor, with peripheral hyperechogenic echoes determined by air. The tumor invaded completely the esophagus with dissapearance of the normal three-layered structure. |
