Gastric cardia carcinoma Sep 9, 2005
Patient with biopsy confirmed gastric cardia carcinoma staged by EUS. EUS visualized a hypoechoic tumor with central air, which was invading all normal EUS layers of the gastric wall, including serosa (T3). Round, hypoechoic lymph nodes of up to 10 mm were depicted in the vicinity of the tumor (N1). Elastography showed a hard tumor with softer central lumen, as compared to soft surrounding tissues (provided by Prof. Dr. Peter Vilmann, Copenhagen).
